Simple (single-stage) tournaments

This is the standard format for weekly or one-off events: every registered squad plays in one shared lobby, matches run on a single day, and final placement is decided from that one set of results. There's no qualification round, no elimination — you show up, play, and see where you land.

Custom / tier-based tournaments

Bigger events split the whole tournament into multiple rounds across several days. Within each round, squads are divided into groups (Group A, Group B, and so on), and only the top-performing squads from each group advance to the next round — right up to a final round that decides the overall winner. This format exists specifically to let a large field (64, 128, sometimes more squads) compete fairly without needing every single match to run at once.

Best for: squads with an established, stable roster who can commit to multiple days, hosts running flagship or seasonal events with meaningful prize pools, and any squad that wants to prove consistency, not just a single lucky bracket run.

What actually changes for your squad

• Scheduling commitment — a tier-based event can span several days; a simple tournament is done in one sitting.
• Room codes — in a tier event, each match belongs to a specific round and group, so double-check you're joining the right lobby, not a different group's match.
• Elimination pressure — one bad round in a tier event can knock a squad out entirely; a simple tournament's placement is final the moment matches end, no elimination risk mid-event.
• Prize structure — tier-based flagship events typically carry larger, more structured prize pools split across more placements, reflecting the bigger field and longer commitment.

Which one should your squad actually join?

New or still-forming squads: start with simple tournaments. They're lower-risk, faster feedback, and a good way to find your roster's actual strengths before committing several days to a bigger bracket. Established squads with a consistent lineup and real match history: tier-based events are where a genuine competitive reputation gets built — advancing through multiple rounds against a large field is a far stronger result than a single-day placement.
